Does anyone else have a dog with gills?

We noticed something odd about Archer pretty early on — he breathes through portholes on the side of his face. Gills maybe. He swims well, but I don't know if I'd put him at "fish" level... You can see in this video the hair on his cheeks puffing. Anyone else have a dog who breathes through portholes??
